Accordion Competition - Competition Categories

The Australian Accordion Teachers Championships and International Festival offer six performance categories: Australian International  Championships, Australian National Championships, Specialist Genre Championships for Light Classical, Entertainment and Jazz.

Please note that all entrants/performers in the Australian International Accordion Championships and Festival MUST be current financial members of the AATA. The membership fees are as follows:

Please note, competitors must bring proof of identification on the day of the competition e.g. passport, birth certificate, identity card.


International Competition Classes

All times listed are maximum playing times. Please ensure, you have read all parts of this Prospectus relevant to your class, especially the Competition Rules, before sending in your entry.

Australian International Solo Championships

(From any nation or territory)

These classes are open to contestants from any country playing accordion. All placegetters of International Championship classes are presented with certificates (to be sent via email if competing online or given in person when competing face to face).

Winners competing in person only:

  • will receive a trophy that must be returned to the AATA Office no later than 21 days prior to the next year’s competition
  • may purchase the trophy if they wish to retain it.
